THE SOUL REFORMATION
THE SOUL REFORMATION began when Brenden McPeek (lead vocalist of Shachah) and guitarist Dan Salas got together in a studio in Costa Mesa, California and started jamming. A few hours into the jam they realized they both really loved the style that was emerging -- one reminiscent of the old soul and funk music they had grown up listening to. That afternoon they recorded scratch versions of three songs including what later became the single "None Can Compare."
As quickly as that, it was apparent the Lord had a plan for this music.
Brenden and Dan then set out to find musicians that had the same vision of bringing excellence in musical ability and Christ exalting lyrics together to make a soulful arrangement of original songs, desiring to bring the message of the gospel in this unique sound and style. One by one, they started linking up with musicians from all over Southern California -- musicians who loved Jesus and got the direction of the music. After a year-and-a-half of writing, recording, mixing and mastering they emerged with the album Lover of My Soul.
The Soul Reformation continues to bring this soulful message in their infectious and dynamic live shows. The band is currently working on a new album as they strive to continue to push boundaries with their live show, whether as a simple five-piece setup or the full-on twelve-piece band including live horns, strings, and a whole host of backup vocalists. Be sure to catch The Soul Reformation live -- they are not to be missed.
